Even so, the orange actually turned out pretty good! (However, don’t go for lime green because your ass WILL look like that Nickelodeon green slime). But like I said, when these FIRST came out, I think they were made to be worn underneath other shorts – not for everyone’s eyes to see everything. The second thing that I’m not a huge fan of (but to be fair, it is probably my fault), is how bad my bum looks in some of the colors. However, I usually fix that problem by finding a patch of dirt and burying them like a dog. I would also like a place to put my keys during a run. But even then, the iPod tends to get sweaty or fall out. I don’t usually wear these short for running unless I stick my iPod in the waist band, which I’ll do on occasion. They really are as minimal as you can get. What I don’t like about the Nike Pro Combat Shorts, is their lack of any type of pocket or holding device. Lastly, if you’re looking for a pair of shorts that won’t give you any sort of muffin top then these are for you! Comfy, cute, and makes you feel like a total fitness star. They don’t stretch out (I wear a medium, but I could probably fit a small if I wanted an even TIGHTER fit) after washing, which is key for me. Not only that, but they come in amazing colors and patterns. They have great stretch and movement, so I can sweat up a storm and fully hit my range of motion for all exercises. I prefer to have minimal fabric getting in my way, and these are perfect for that. What do I wear my Nike Pro Combat Shorts for? They’re amazing for Muay Thai and kick boxing. I am 99% sure these shorts were originally made to be worn as compression shorts underneath a loose pair of shorts (or in my case, rugby shorts), but I’ve never been one to follow the rules. I own 7 PAIRS of these bad boys, and I did own a eighth until I somehow lost them. The first items to review on my list is the Nike Pro Combat Shorts with a 3” inseam. And this post is not sponsored, I just love these shorts. One of the great things about having so many workout clothes, is that I can give honest feedback and reviews on what I love, what I don’t, and why. And since I spend about 50% of my life in it, I want it to be AWESOME. It’s not something that I’m trying to brag about – I mean, I don’t have a car, or a snowboard, or an expensive musical instrument. I seriously believe that I have one of the nicest workout gear collections ever. What I do love (surprise surprise) is SHOPPING. I think most people my age spend their disposable income on ski passes, purchasing a car, new dirt bikes, video games, or other things that I don’t have too much of an interest in.

Finally, the part was adapted to the rear bumper reinforcement of LEXUS RC-F. Also, in order to launch the developed part, robustness of part’s performance was evaluated. Experimental data of bending strength were in the range of predicted bounds. To validate the calculation method, three-point bending tests on the parts were carried out. We employed a novel cross-section design method which can be used to predict bending strength of CFRP reinforced metal structures under large deformation. In this design with a multi-material structure, bending strength of the developed part can’t be predicted by a full plastic moment which could normally be used to predict metal parts’ bending strength under large deformation. If a UD-CFRP sheet is adhered on the tensile side of an Al bumper reinforcement, not only Al thickness on the tensile side, but also thickness on the compression side can be reduced due to movement of the bending neutral axis. When vehicles crash, bumper reinforcements may be subjected to bending force. Compared to Al, UD-CFRP sheets have even higher tensile strength and modulus. The intention is to prevent an increased part cost by reducing the amount of Al and by minimizing the amount of CFRP. In this study we have developed a lightweight, structural part, which consists of a thin-walled Al (Aluminum) bumper reinforcement with a UD (Unidirectional)-CFRP sheet. However, because of their relatively high cost, applications of CFRP materials to vehicle structural parts are limited. CFRP (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic) composites are attractive lightweight materials due to their excellent specific strength and rigidity. Since bumper reinforcements are positioned at front/rear ends of vehicles, weight reduction of the bumper reinforcements enhances vehicle dynamic performance by reducing a yaw moment of inertia. “This is the first in what we expect to be multiple new locations around the island, and we’re excited to take this first step in introducing the Freedom Boat Club model to boaters across Puerto Rico.”įreedom’s first Puerto Rico location is officially welcoming new members for the 2023 boating season and will be hosting a meet-and-greet for potential new members on March 11, 2023, to learn more about the Club and take the boats on the water. “We believe Puerto Rico is a prime market for the growth of Freedom Boat Club,” said Centeno. The new location will be owned and operated by franchise owner Mike Centeno, a native to Puerto Rico with a passion for water sports and an entrepreneur with more than 20 years of experience building successful businesses on the island and across the Northeast. Safe Harbor continues to be a long-time partner of Freedom Boat Club with some of the most exceptional marinas and boating destinations. The flagship location will be located at Safe Harbor Puerto del Rey marina, the largest marina in the Caribbean and a destination to boaters from all over the world. “This expansion into Puerto Rico represents the beginning of our continued efforts to replicate the successful model we have built stateside and provide a pathway to introduce more global consumers to the on-water lifestyle.” “We believe there is an opportunity to successfully expand Freedom Boat Club across Puerto Rico as one of the world’s top boating destinations and one of the most popular activities in the region,” said Louis Chemi, Vice President, Freedom Franchise Network. This announcement represents the first boat club to operate in the territory providing members unlimited access to its fleet of boats and globally across Freedom’s 380 locations through its reciprocal access program. Freedom’s flagship club in the territory will be located in Fajardo, providing access to some of the world’s top fishing and top three ranked beaches in the Caribbean. VENICE, Fla., Ma(GLOBE NEWSWIRE) - Freedom Boat Club, the world’s largest boat club operator and a division of Brunswick Corporation (NYSE: BC), today announced expansion into Puerto Rico. Mo also has very slow animations when she interacts with certain objects, which was one of my main gripes with that aforementioned heinous puzzle. Running is an option, but I wish it was a toggle because I never let go of that dang button. For one, Mo walks at a snail’s pace by default. Where it doesn’t work as well is in the gameplay. The game’s pacing is deliberately slow at points, particularly when Mo is approaching or departing a dock, but these moments elegantly fit with the game’s tone. If there’s one thing about the game I wasn’t hot on, it’s its speed. Minute of Islands tackles some heavy subject matter, but in a way that feels nuanced, respectful, and – maybe I’m just speaking for myself here – utterly relatable. There were parts I found confronting, stressful, and completely heartbreaking, but after playing it all the way through, I’m so glad I did. I think this warning is absolutely appropriate. However, I want to point out that the game starts with a content warning for trauma, anxiety, and destructive behaviour. I’m hesitant to say any more about the story because I think it’s something that should be experienced with as little prior knowledge as possible. At several points, I kept playing not to find out what happens next, but to see what Mo does next. Playing as her was always engaging, even when I didn’t fully agree with her. There were parts of Minute of Islands that reminded me of Night in the Woods, in that, in the midst of such a heightened, fantastical world, the protagonist is often the most interesting thing on screen. “It’s like Adventure Time meets Junji Ito.” Each character is read in a distinct cadence, and Gay’s performance perfectly underlines Mo’s emotional turmoil. Instead of dialogue, everything is described by the narrator, voiced by Megan Gay, who does stellar work. I was engrossed by each of her relationships with the other residents. This means that you’re not just exploring this world as a player, you’re learning about Mo’s past, and learning about the island’s residents by the stuff they leave lying around (I love the concept of outdoor cabinets and I can’t explain why). Having lived on the islands her whole life, Mo knows all of them intimately. You quickly learn that the islands are not as populated as they once were, and everyone left behind is connected to Mo in some way. It’s like Adventure Time meets Junji Ito. Some sights in this game are downright horrific (mainly the many, many animal corpses you will come across, in various states of decay due to the poison) but otherwise the game comes off cartoonish and family-friendly. Every environment is vibrant, detailed, and full of little animations, and manages to strike a great balance. I can’t stress how beautiful Minute of Islands’ art style is. Button remapping is not possible for keyboard or controller, at least in the version of the game we received for review. I found this a bit awkward, but thankfully controllers map these commands to the triggers, which is much more convenient. The Omni Switch can be pulled out at any time to point you towards your next objective, and it’s otherwise used to interact with various machines, which involves holding down some combination of the S, D, and F keys (on keyboard). The game consists of travelling to and exploring each island, which takes the form of jumping between platforms, pulling levers, and pushing various objects around so you can jump off them onto more platforms. It’s not just her job, she was chosen to do this. There is a deadly poison in the air, for some reason all the air purifiers have stopped working, and Mo is the only one who can start them up again. She is the wielder of the Omni Switch, a kind of sci-fi magic wand that lets her interact with the machines scattered around the islands where she lives. The story follows Mo (pronounced like “more”), a young woman who lives alone in an underground network of tubes and tunnels. While the exhaust sat baking I got to work on the forks, sanded them down with 240 grit sandpaper to take the shine off the old paint, special attention was given to the spots of heavy wear. I used high-temperature matte black paint, laying down in all about 3 layers, this paint has to be baked on at 200C for an hour so I cover the whole thing over in insulation and blew a hot air gun through one end set to 380C, that seems to have done the trick, I was checking regularly with a digital thermometer. There’s still a lot of pitting but all the raised and surface rust was removed, the whole thing was washed then got brushed over with rust converter, phosphoric acid mix which converts the rust into zinc phosphate a much better surface to paint on to. The whole weekend was dedicated to prep and painting, sent the frame, chain guard, front guard and swing arm down the the local sandblaster who said he could get the whole lot done and primed and back to me in 2 days or only $100! I dropped it off on Saturday and spent the time till Monday prepping, painting and baking everything else I could.įirst victim was the exhaust, I blasted the whole lot with a little sand baster my Dad had and finished up with 80 grit sandpaper, was a lot of work to knock down that rust It has been a really big 2 weeks but the end is now in sight. I’m going to give the rear shocks some love with a new coat of paint to match the front forks then its just the foot pegs and all the stands to paint and FINALLY all the painting will be done. That’s not entirely true, when the engine rebuild starts I’ll be painting the covers but the frame will be done. TA DA! Re-assembly has finally started, and so far everything is looking pretty damn good. Process to reinstall the new bushes was the same except for one crucial detail, the support block must only have a hole large enough to accommodate the inner bush tube, using the same support block from the removal process will likely result in the entire bushing tube forcing its way in, deforming your swing arm, how do I know this? take a guess.Īs for the steering stem bearings I followed the guide here Now for the reveal! Over to the 6 tonne press, carefully supported he underside of the bush mount with a block of timber through which I had drilled a large enough hole to accommodate the bush mount tube (it protrudes a little from the swing arm), a suitably sized socket on the top and second pair of hands to help line everything up and out they pop… or rather slide… very freaking slowly! Unfortunately rubber has a half life, it oxidizes (for lack of a better word) gets tough and cracks, this was the case with my bushes, they had to go. Removing the swing arm bushes was an absolute pain, they’re really pressed into the swing arm and most people recommend leaving them alone. In the absence of photos I’ll do my best to briefly explain the processes: Fitted the new tapered roller steering stem bearings. Removed and replaced the swing arm bushes.Went through two very important steps over the weekend and failed to get photos Important things I didn’t take photos of because I was lazy My Dad is a much better welder than I so I let him at itĬhain guard painted, tank still needed another coat in this photo.įrame got painted, this is in between coats. Wired up the pan to hold the crack together I couldn’t find a seat pan on its own anywhere and everywhere was charging around $190 for a complete seat, I want to re-foam and upholster the seat myself – one of the only parts that wont look original – so I didn’t want a whole seat. I spoke to their mechanics 3 on the back 2.75 on the front wont be an issue. New tyres and tubes, 2.75 17 for the front and 3 17 on the rear, different tyres only due to availability at the local place – they were giving me the best price $40 for the front $60 for the rear everywhere else quoted me $75 each as the cheapest they could do. Wheels will be painted in time but for now they just got a clean, not that you could tell New fully sealed wheel bearings, old bearing were only sealed on one side these are sealed on both, advantage here is it eliminates the need for the dust seals – I reinstalled the old ones anyway. Something changed, the rex began to flee, I chased it toward a river where upon crossing the threshold it slammed to the ground I gathered meat from any source I could and fed the thing, protecting my once enemy as if my life depended on it I gathered narcoberries and tended to the rex for as long as it took before it arose now under my command. Most people, sane people would have run but not me, I started firing rocks as fast as I could dodging and weaving as the titanic beast attempted to strike me down, time past slowly the adrenaline keeping me hyper focused, I took a hit my health bar tanking, I panicked but continued firing. I gathered stone, hours and hours passing amassing hundreds of lil pieces of lifeline, I grew more confident going into the trees to gather material crafting backup slings and gathering more material until I heard footsteps, I ran as fast as I could back to my beach thinking I was safe until it burst from the trees. My name is Jasmine (Jaz for short) and I bought Ark on the very day of its release into early access, I downloaded the game eagerly awaiting whatever came and eventually loaded into spawning on a picturesque beach on the northern half of The Island I stayed on that beach as if it were my lifeline, I hunted dodos and ate berries gathering a few megre levels unlocking the most powerful weapon I'd ever known the sling. Deleting or modifying the corrupt element resolved the issue. Luckily, we use DropBox so I was able to use its version history to recover a version of the file from the night before. As per the customer, the issue was specific to a corrupt element. Then, after another attempt, the whole InDesign document became corrupted and wouldn't open. Yet no matter how many times I attempted to update, unlink, or even delete the frames containing this story, I received a crash to desktop. When I right clicked 'Show in Finder' it was not missing, it was there, and it opened in InCopy fine! It showed up as 'missing' in the Assignments panel. However, a story which was part of the Assignment, but not edited by anyone except myself in InDesign, became corrupt. So we went back to using InCopy cautiously today, with the writers sat next to me and me ensuring I update their work in InDesign frequently. We cannot risk losing another day of work / day and a half of productivity, until I know what caused this, and how to ensure it does not happen again.Īny advice is as always very much appreciated. InDesign is on the latest macOS, and the writers are on windows 10, they only downloaded InCopy in the last few weeks, but it's worth me checking if there has been an update since which they need to download.įor now we are going back to the old fashioned, slow method of the writer's either sending me marked up PDFs or entirely new word documents, or sitting next to me for small edits with me actioning them. I have the latest version of InDesign and InCopy. I pressed for more info but this was basically all I could learn - so it sounds like someone using InCopy has copied text from Word, and this has become corrupted somehow. Thanks all, just got off the phone with Adobe support, where the gentleman took control of my screen and looked at the error log. They CAN open the individual stories contained in the assignment (at least the ones we've tried so far) so we could copy and paste these into the InDesign document, but the problem is we will then lose all the work I have done with endnotes. In the last hour, one of the writers is now receiving crash to desktop when they open the InCopy assignment on their machine. We are also in the process of installing missing fonts (so fonts I've used in the design, but the writer's don't have) on the writers' machines. I have a sneaking suspicion it's stories with endnotes that are crashing. When I attempt to update certain InCopy stories in InDesign, with edits made by the writers, I get crashes to desktop. I am using an assignment file for the workflow, the 'server' is Dropbox. I am working on an InDesign document as the designer, with two colleagues (writers) working on InCopy assignments plugged into the main InDesign document. Having a serious problem which is causing us no end of headaches. |
